From an early scrum Leighton Rees fed Chris Powell who put winger Rhydian Jones in space passing to captain and number 8 Rhydian Jones in support to score. A good carry by Lyndon Davies with Nathaniel Butler in support and Richard Davies put in a delicate cross kick for winger Jones to gather finding centre Chris Powell at his shoulder to score and lead 10 -0 after 6 minutes.
Penybanc settled and played well for 15 minutes. Lee Davies put in a cross kick for winger Alex Wigley to score converting his own try. With Llandybie leading 17 -0 the referee inexplicably abandoned the match for what he described as ill discipline although he had only awarded four penalties in the game. Despite both teams asking him to continue he was not to be persuaded.
